Frequently Asked Questions
🌍 Why & How do you relocate internationally with pets?
Work has required relocating across countries, and pets have always been part of that journey. This meant figuring out how to move internationally in a way that prioritises their wellbeing — from managing paperwork and flights to researching housing and pet regulations.
Each relocation involves months of planning, preparation, and gradual desensitisation to make transitions as smooth as possible. It’s not always easy, but it’s a lifestyle built around intention, adaptability, and life with pets at the centre.
🐾 Which pets join you on outdoor adventures?
Marty (the adventure dog) and Frankie (the travel-loving cat) join in on most excursions. They thrive on a change of scenery and adapt quickly to new environments. That said, every pet has a unique personality and a different tolerance for change.
Care is taken to respect those individual needs — no one is ever pushed beyond their comfort zone. That’s exactly why the rest of the crew prefers their catio kingdom at home, complete with toys, enrichment, and a sunny backyard. I mean, someone’s gotta hold down the fort after all!
🚙 How do you keep them happy on long journeys?
Safety and comfort are everything. Along with essential safety equipment, familiar items like toys or blankets help create comfort, while hydration, snacks, and toilet breaks are kept on schedule. Direct flights are ideal, and on road trips, the golden rule applies: never leave pets alone in the car — not even “just for a minute.”
🎒 What’s in your pet’s travel bag?
This is basically their version of carry-on luggage: collapsible water bowls, treats, food, harnesses, leashes, poop bags, toys, and a first-aid kit — essentially the basics used almost every day. For big moves, all relevant paperwork is added, including passports (yes, they have those), extra ID tags, and a comfort blanket that smells like home.
🗺 How do you pick pet-friendly destinations?
We’re picky — in a good way. Pets tolerated is not the same as pet-friendly! We look for 100% pet-welcoming accommodations, outdoor activities, and quality accessible vet care (because life happens). Seasons and climate are also taken into consideration—no one’s hiking in 40°C heat here! Planning and research are essential to make sure every trip is rewarding for both pets and humans.
💻 How do you juggle work, travel, and pets?
A lot of coffee and a lot of planning. Work is done remotely, which allows travel days to be built around schedules. Reliable Wi-Fi is non-negotiable, and accommodation is chosen with pets in mind — because “no pets allowed” is a deal-breaker. Days usually start with a pet-focused morning activity (a hike or scenic walk) to make sure Marty has burned off plenty of energy. The rest of the day is spent catching up on work, before heading out again in the late afternoon for a beach play session.
💰 Do you get paid to recommend products?
Sometimes. However, we only share products we’ve tested and truly trust. ALL of our recommendations come from years of real-life travel and relocation experience — not just sponsorships. If we don’t use it, we won’t promote it. Our standards are set pretty high, and we value quality above all else.
